EMERALD WITH A RUSSIAN ACCENT
Weight: 4.12 CaratOrigin: Russia
There’s green—and then there’s GREEN. This Russian beryl variety has all the bells and you’ll get all the whistles wearing it. We can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love emerald, but finding the right one that meets every must-have on your short list can be tricky. Let’s review. Saturated Kelly green? Check. Moderately included? Check. Expertly cut? Check. Exotic origin? Da—I mean Check.
Many gemstone connoisseurs prefer emerald with a slightly bluish back color, and this one delivers in spades. The very nature of emerald means that we will always find at least some inclusions in the crystal, but these Russian beauties have so few it’s startling. To enhance their already pristine look, our proprietary treatment further ups their immaculate appearance. Prost!
SANTA MARIA! THAT’S SOME AQUAMARINE
Weight: 5.70 CaratOrigin: Mozambique
Baby where’d ya get those blues? Could you imagine that aquamarine would ever have such an icy-blue tone? I know! We didn’t either. Feast your eyes on these limpid pools of azure elegance. Makes you fall in love with aquamarine all over again.
This particular Santa Maria aquamarine is found in Mozambique and it’s referred to as Santa Maria Africana. Sounds as glamorous as it looks. The exotic beryl variety is so highly desirable that just saying the name elicits adoring sighs from the gem crowd. It’s a sturdy 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale for hardness, and with barely any visible inclusions (VS) it’s got everything you could ask for in a jewel.
AWESOME ONYX
Weight: 96.89 CaratOrigin: Brazil
Honest, this onyx is awesome. Black is the new neutral. No it’s not. It was always the neutral. But monochromatic ‘non-colors’ have a big fan base because they are artistic like black and white photography. Everything seems more dramatic in black.
We think it’s one of the chicest members of the chalcedony family and it is found in deposits around the globe. Ours hails from Brazil, and when polished en cabochon like we’ve done it, the utility is almost—endless! Men’s cuff links, women’s earrings, sophisticated rings for anyone—you get the idea.
HELLO HELIODOR!
Weight: 236.55 CaratOrigin: Brazil
The beryl family of gemstones is produced in so many colors that most of them have very specific monikers to separate them. Here we have Heliodor, a true 20th century gemstone. Not all gems were discovered in ancient times. Heliodor being one of them was first found in Namibia around 1910.
One reason this distinctive yellow-green beryl has so many fans is due to its eye-popping eye-clean crystals. Anyway you cut it, heliodor will be a stunner. Legends say that heliodor facilitates communication. We can totally see that. Just get one and try to stop talking about it!
HOT ENOUGH FOR ‘YA? THIS OPAL’S ON FIRE!
Weight: 1.92 CaratOrigin: Mexico
Get a load of this one. You like distinctive jewels don’t you? The kind you can recognize a mile away—like your dog with the big white patch on his hiney—only this is better, right? We can’t quit looking at it, but we’ll have to if you buy it. This is the only one in existence, anywhere. Check out the rainbow patch on top of the Kool-aid orange fancy cabochon. That’s what I’m talkin’ bout.
We carefully select only the top Mexican fire opal for you. You demand the best, and we know it. Actually we demand the best too, and when something is this outstanding we just have to brag it up. This one sizzles.
