Bustamite

Bustamite, also known as the Calcium rich variety of Rhodonite, belongs to the Silicates group.

Bustamite is named after General Anastasio Bustamente (1830 President of Mexico), who discovered Bustamite in New Jersey, U.S.A. in 1822.

Appearing in red-brown, pink, yellow and white, Bustamite crystals are extremely rare but can make for a very colorful and beautiful gemstone.

Bustamite is usually found in parallel growth with crystals of Fowlerite. The two are distinguished by Fowlerite’s characteristic cleavage parallel to the base, a feature not developed in Bustamite.

Bustamite is believed by many crystal healers to possess an energetic ability, allowing it to remove and clear energy blockages. Because of this ability, they also believe Bustamite to be a very powerful gem for all types of energy work.

On an emotional level, crystal healers believe Bustamite helps one feel safe, and leads to many different kinds of emotional healing, including relieving anxiety and stress. Physically, Bustamite has been used by crystal healers to heal and improve circulation, lungs, skin, nails and hair disorders.

Bustamite is only found in U.S.A and Australia.
